Some folks caught in the backup behind a 40-car pileup near Montreal got out the hockey sticks to wait out the cleanup efforts. Luckily only minor injuries in the crash.

The other day I was on a highway as the conditions were getting worse by the second. I was driving very cautiously, and at one point came to a stop because of other cars (a minor accident ahead - spin out into snowbank). I opened my door and stuck my foot out to feel the surface... you definitely could have played hockey on it. We were very lucky to get out of that unscathed!

One of my coworkers likes to tell the story of how he made the news - caught in an ice storm and waiting for a tow, once the freezing rain stopped, he got out and grabbed some pucks and a stick from hi s trunk and practiced his shots. And of course, once the weather cleared up the news station helicopters all took off in search of that great winter storm coverage. Ap parently some balding doofus, on his way to coach pee-wee hockey, smacking pucks into the woods was just the ticket for one of them.
